Say Nuts to Raisins !

Muddy Cook came about because I have rather a dislike of these small, unassuming little fruits - and frustratingly most mueslis are packed with them - so I began thinking that if I didn't like a particular ingredient then there must be others that felt the same way ... about say apricots or dates or almonds.

Muddy Cook aims to offer the ultimate in muesli - bespoke customised mixes made only from the finest gourmet ingredients from the UK and around the world, as unadulterated as nature intended. Each customised muesli is mixed to order and blended by hand. To ensure perfect manageable size pieces and freshness, many of the ingredients are chopped by hand too.

Not only is it our intention that each and every ingredient should taste great and be good for you, but they should also be kind to the planet and so almost all of our ingredients are organic. However, with over one hundred ingredients, there are still one or two that we haven’t yet tracked down in an organic version. Wherever we’ve had the option of buying Fair Trade we’ve chosen it – sometimes at a slightly higher cost but we believe it’s the right decision. We’ve indicated the provenance of all of our ingredients too, just in case you’re concerned about food miles and the ethics of buying overseas products.

The paper used to create our mix-packs and postal cartons is made from a proportion of recycled material and both are fully recyclable.

Our aim is to continually improve our muesli and the quality of our ingredients, whether that’s through slow-drying our own fruit or sourcing as many British grains as possible. If you have any ideas about how we can make it better, we’d love to hear from you.
